You must have seen Wasara goods featured here and there in shops and online. I saw them on my first trip to Japan in 2008. They're biodegradable, made out of bamboo and bagasse pulp and poetically sculpted to fit the most comfortable way your hand would hold a plate or cup.

It's a bit pricy to pay for paper plates but look really pretty :)
