Cocoon

I was so delighted to stumble upon this article in The New York Times of a house by AFGH. It has been published widely in the past years in blogs, magazines and books and remains one of my personal fascinating favourite references. Situated in the village of VnĂ  in the Lower Engadinem, which is in Switzerland, the concrete home of an art gallery owner takes reference from the surrounding local vernacular house forms of simple rectangular forms sitting on the landscape with tiny windows.

The use of plywood to line the interior is a perfect backdrop for the owner's personal art collection. The pops of colours and graphic shapes animates the setting. Why I was so delighted was because these pictures on The New York Times features the house in a more lived-in, homely state, other than the typically published press pictures I've seen.
