Softness

I chanced upon abc home this afternoon and found some really beautiful pieces. The ten-storey store in Manhattan is filled with a careful curated selection of rugs, homeware, accessories with eco agendas as well as artful pieces from known designers like Tom Dixon. Ten stories! I could spend a whole day in there. There's a certain quiet wistfulness about some of the products above that I think would go together so well.

From left: Tom Dixon aluminum pipe pendant with anodized interior finish - I love Tom Dixon's lighting collection with the industrial feel and polished make; Natural hand-drawn aesthetics has a certain innocent charm like this silk screened and hand painted cotton cushion backed with vintage fabric; Tom Doxon shiny copper pendant light - I would love to see how the lamp looks when the copper begins to tarnish; organic handcrafted porcelain mugs - I like the feel of unpolished porcelain on the skin with the slight powdery feel and translucency of the material that gives off a rawness; What catches my eye about this wooden bowl is the imperfect uneven finish. It's made from a single piece of fallen Lenga wood from the regions of Chile and Argentina. Lastly, the softness of organic cotton curtains would go well with the cushion.

Tom Dixon's copper pendants and Thonet chairs go together.
