I've mentioned Outofstock before in a previous post - the design team who curated Foundry Collection. I really like what I see on their website.
The Boya table lamp draws on the nautical imagery of beacons and marine bouys. The lamp shade in grey tinted blown glass is quite romantically 60s to me.
Another compelling design is the Naked chair - a lightweight structure expressing the honesty of its construction. From the website - "The strength of this chair is due to action-reaction forces between the folded steel sheets and beech wood frame". Extending on the philosophy of its aesthetics, the chair can be flat packed and assembled without tools.
My favourite is the Arbour, a compact work desk that means 'trees' in Latin. It contains five openable compartments of different solid woods on tht top and front. It's clever and animated with a sophisticated child-likeness. Similar to the Naked chair, the legs of this table can be removed and flat packed for easy transportation.
Outofstock also designs interiors, one of which is the recently opened 'Hatch', an eatery serving all-day breakfast next to the National University of Singapore Law Campus at Evans Road where they've used their own designed Biscuit stool. The simple design of the restauraunt is mean to evoke the 'egg' theme of its menu.
