At markets, the storeowners are so friendly and generous, and you don't expect it but the uncle in his singlet and shorts, he looks at the bouquet you handpicked and gingerly throws in a leaf in the package, just to give some background to your bare flowers - here I don't really know what to do with an extra leaf so I decided to fold it in a glass cup.
and at the other market, this other uncle thought my one cluster of purple flowers didn't look complete. He threw in another one for free - looks better this way, he said in mandarin very matter-of-factly.
