One of my favourite homes from 2007 is Hiroshi Nakamura's 'Dancing Trees, Singing Birds' housing complex in Tokyo. Clad in dark timber and reading as a cluster of boxes bundled together nestled in trees, the spaces are as whimsical as the name suggests, with trees growing through sun-lit courtyards, white reflective spaces, secret wall/shelves and strategically placed windows of various sizes to capture views of the lush foliage outside. It feels like being in your private tree house. I love how the series of pictures from the architect's website tells a story.
